Frank Lloyd Wright 1933

The original design was produced as a pendant light for a gymnasium back in 1933, but was modified for domestic use in the 1950s. Impressed with the indirect lighting effect produced by the ceiling lights, Frank Lloyd Wright amended the design to a floor lamp for his own Taliesin home - and this is that design.
A totem-like mix of cherry wood and incandescent bulbs (for the glowing light), it works either as a piece of domestic sculpture or functional design, not to mention a piece of history for your home.

Duck and Duckling

Hans Bølling 1959

The Ducks are reminiscent of Danish spring, with mother ducks waltzing proudly around Copenhagen with their young ducklings. One particular spring in 1959 branded this image into the minds of the Danish population, as during the busy days in Frederiksberg a policeman found the time to stop the traffic in order to let a young Duck family pass. It was an extraordinary and meaningful event to the by passers to the point that all the newspapers published a famous photograph of the ducks. This captured moment encapsulates the Danish attention to nature and detail and the ability to appreciate small everyday miracles. Inspired by the charming Duck family, Hans Bølling hence designed a pair of small wooden Duck figures, whose souls carry the essence of peaceful and harmonious Danish spring.

Monkey

Kay Bojesen 1951

Bojesen started life as a silversmith, but became world famous for his wooden toys, and is known as one of Denmark's applied arts pioneers. The monkey continues to be made in Denmark from teak and limbawood, embodying the principles of Danish design and superior craftmanship.

BIRDs

Kristian Vedel 1959

Simplicity of design has made these notable birds appealing additions to homes and offices worldwide. Bring them to life by balancing their heads and beaks to alter their expressions, or invert their bodies to make them appear as male or female. Kristian Vedel designed the BIRDs in 1959 and today they are still handmade by a wood turner in a small village in Denmark.
They are available in 3 sizes in smoked or natural oak.
